I began my career as a draftsman in the Consumer Electronics Industry. The tools that I used to accomplish my responsibilities all fit in a brief case, with exception to the large drawing board that sat in my office. I was a master of the drawing board and managed to gain a permanent divot in the tip of my middle finger where the mechanical pencil was spun to draw crisp lines on vellum. The year was 1981 and CAD systems were only found in large companies with very deep pockets. The company I worked for was new (I was employee number 13), but it was innovative and provided graphics tablets to the CAD, GIS and Graphics Arts profession—this was my stepping stone into CAD.
Today I am a Design Manager for a company in the Aerospace Industry. The engineering group consists of 10 designers and approximately 50 engineers, all seasoned professionals and proficient at using CAD in one form or another. Our primary tools are ProEngineer, OrCAD and OrCAD CIS, Ansys, PSpice, Windchill, MS Office products and Oracle eBusiness Suite. We also have secondary tools which include CATIA V5, Solidworks and Solid Edge, just to name a few.
Within every organization I have had the privilege to work for, it has been my focus to ensure that the software tools are used as intended and fit the business need. To maximize business or personal growth in the CAD Industry, LineTip.com will provide professional information to assist individuals and organizations in meeting their goals.
